Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping education — and thoughtful leadership matters. Northwest Regional ESD is committed to supporting our component districts in implementing AI in ways that are human-centered, equity-rooted, and grounded in student safety. On this page, you’ll find practical tools, training opportunities, implementation guidance, and customizable resources designed to help district leaders, administrators, and educators build AI literacy, establish guardrails, and lead responsibly in an evolving landscape. Our goal is not simply to respond to AI, but to help districts shape its use intentionally and ethically in service of student outcomes.

“How We Use AI” Transparency Statement

Northwest Regional ESD approaches artificial intelligence as a tool that can responsibly augment human work — not replace it. In developing guidance, training materials, and tools related to AI, we may use generative AI systems to assist with outlining, drafting, synthesizing research, or improving clarity. All final content, recommendations, and decisions are reviewed, revised, and validated by human staff.

We do not use public AI tools to process student or staff personally identifiable information, and we follow applicable privacy laws and data protection standards in all AI-related work.

Our commitment is simple: AI may support our work, but humans remain accountable for decisions, relationships, and outcomes.
