Northwest Regional Education Service District
Home MenuEquity and Family Partnerships
Our agency's vision is that every student is educated, equipped and inspired to achieve their full potential and enrich their communities. Our team contributes to this vision by helping to shape welcoming and inclusive educational environments where students and staff from all backgrounds can thrive.
Our Purpose
Our team's charge is to deepen our agency's commitment to equity and antiracism through the following activities:
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where staff and students from all racial identities and intersectionalities can thrive.
- Advance and promote culturally sustaining curriculum and instruction by providing educators throughout the region with professional learning opportunities.
- Diversify our region's educators by supporting the development of effective hiring, recruitment and retention practices.
- Achieve and sustain racial equity by examining and changing practices that contribute to structural racism; remove institutional barriers for historically marginalized students and staff by consulting and providing technical support to school district leadership.
- Facilitate an equity affinity group open to all staff of color at NWRESD to build community, share cultures and provide involvement with procedures that affect people of color in our respective organizations.
