Our Early Learning programs support children, families and child care providers. Our Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education programs focus on children ages birth to 5 who are experiencing disabilities. These programs work with children and families who live in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Washington counties.

We also operate three programs that support child care providers and families in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook counties. Our Child Care Resource and Referral program works to strengthen the skills of child care providers and builds child care capacity in the region. The Northwest Parenting Hub offers classes and support to parents and families. Our Early Learning Hub works to ensure children are ready for kindergarten.

Child Care Resource and Referral

Early Childhood Special Education (Ages 3-5)

Our Early Childhood Special Education program offers special education services to children ages 3 to 5 who are found eligible through our referral and evaluation process. Services include specially designed instruction and related services such as physical, occupational or speech and language therapy. These services are often provided at community preschools, child care facilities or designated sites. Read more about our Early Childhood Special Education program.

Early Intervention (Birth to age 3)

Early Learning Hub

The Early Learning Hub helps prepare children and their families living in Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook counties for kindergarten. The program provides resources and tools for parents with children from birth through age 5. We offer resource guides by county, information on kindergarten registration and updates about state and regional early learning initiatives. Read more about our Early Learning Hub.

In partnership with Hillsboro Parks & Recreation Hidden Creek staff, our Hillsboro Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education teams are hosting free sensory playtimes this spring for babies, toddlers and preschoolers this winter and spring.
