Shaping Our Future Together
This fall, we will begin developing our next strategic plan. This plan will be a bold and thoughtful roadmap that will guide our agency's direction, priorities and investments over the next several years.
Rooted in our shared vision — Every student educated, equipped and inspired to achieve their full potential and enrich their communities — the plan will turn our aspirations into action. It will reflect the heart of our work and our commitment to our values of student success, equity, partnership and innovative service.
💬 Your Voice Matters
The success of this process depends on the voices of our students, families, staff and partners. Starting this month and throughout the fall, you'll have multiple opportunities to shape the work and ensure it reflects the values and lived experiences of those we serve.
🙋Ways to Participate
Students, families, staff and district and community partners will be invited to share in the following ways:
- Participating in or facilitating community engagement efforts such as surveys, story circles and empathy interviews that seek to gather input from people receiving services from our agency
- Engaging in team or other regularly scheduled meetings (staff, district job-alikes, regional superintendents, affinity groups, etc.), including opportunities for deeper follow-up conversations in a variety of formats
We'll also draw from recent staff surveys, listening sessions, empathy interviews and team-based input to ensure the plan is grounded in the diverse perspectives in our organization.
🤝 Strategic Plan Design Team
Leading this work is a Strategic Plan Design Team, composed of staff from a variety of roles and job classifications. The team reflects the diversity of the students and families we serve and will play a critical role by:
- Offering input on the design and development of the plan.
- Recommending inclusive engagement strategies for listening to our communities.
- Reviewing and analyzing data to inform our needs assessment.
- Identifying key challenges and opportunities.
- Ensuring strategies align with research-based best practices.
🧩 Framework
Our current 2020-26 Strategic Plan was built around six collective commitments. The new plan will be organized differently. Rather than developing commitments, we will build around our four core values:
- Student Success
- Equity
- Partnership
- Innovative Service
Each value will achor strategies that are specific, actionable and measurable.
