Clatsop County’s youngest residents still don’t have access to the quality child care their families need. The county remains what is considered a severe child care desert for infants and toddlers — meaning there are more than 10 children for every available program slot.

Recently released data from the Oregon Department of Education shows that attendance is the worst it’s been in decades. Last year, one in three students missed a month or more of school. Our attendance team can help your district or school with your attendance efforts.

Grants are available to pre-K-12 educators, grade level teams, building administrators, equity teams, superintendents, etc. in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Washington counties. We’re looking for applications that propose ways to address inequities in our schools.

We are saddened to share with our Northwest Regional Education Service District family that longtime staff member Robin Lindsey has passed away. Robin worked for NWRESD for nearly three decades as an administrative assistant at our Hillsboro Early Childhood Center.

The Oregon Department of Education recently released 2022-23 state assessment results. We’ve updated our Oregon Schools Data Dashboard with this data.

On the surface, our post-pandemic test scores appear to show that fewer Oregon students are meeting state standards compared to other states. However, the biggest change is not the number of students below state expectations, but the doubling of students who are not even taking the assessment.
