Northwest Regional Education Service District has selected Barb Proctor to lead the Northwest Outdoor Science School as the interim coordinator from now through June 30, 2022. Barb comes to NWRESD with more than 34 years of experience in education. She has taught at the middle and high schools levels and worked as an administrator in various positions such as associate principal, interim principal, athletic director and student assistance administrator.
Barb says she is thrilled to be leading the outdoor school program and looks forward to creating meaningful experiences for the students. “Outdoor school is such a special experience that students carry with them into adulthood,” Barb says. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, skiing and gardening.
Barb’s first day was Jan. 3, 2022. She and the outdoor school team are working to develop the spring 2022 program.
Barb replaces John Jackson, who previously led the program for 23 years. You can read more about the transition.
