Post Date:06/03/2021 9:00 AM

The Rural STEM Leadership Network invites Oregon's rural K-8 educators to enrich the statewide STEAM education conversation as learning facilitators. As a facilitator, you will:

  • Connect statewide with other educators on topics such as Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS); science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education; place-based education; and rural leadership.
  • Build your distance facilitation skills to lead virtual professional development for other educators.
  • Increase your confidence to jump into regional and statewide leadership roles related to NGSS and STEAM education.
  • Facilitate a three-part NGSS series during the 2021-22 school year to hone your facilitation skills.

Summer dates and times: Wednesdays (on Zoom) from 4-6 p.m. (Pacific Time) every Wednesday in August. Participants will also need to complete 10 hours of learning on their own in between sessions.

Participants who teach in Clatsop, Coastal Douglas, Coastal Lane, Columbia, Coos, Crook, Curry, Deschutes, Jackson, Jefferson, Josephine, Klamath, Lincoln, Malheur and Tillamook counties are eligible for a $1,000 stipend once they complete the course.
