At last night's regular board meeting, the board of directors proclaimed May 4-8, 2026 Licensed Employee Appreciation Week, stating:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE NORTHWEST REGIONAL EDUCATION SERVICE DISTRICT IN CLATSOP, COLUMBIA, TILLAMOOK, AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES, OREGON PROCLAIMING MAY 4-8, 2026 LICENSED EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK
WHEREAS, licensed employees, including teachers and other licensed professionals, play a vital role in supporting the learning, development, and well-being of children, students, families, and educators across our region; and
WHEREAS, licensed employees serve individuals with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs through direct services, family-centered support, and collaboration with educational and community partners; and
WHEREAS, licensed employees contribute to the success of our region by providing instruction, early learning supports, consultation, and professional learning that strengthen both individual outcomes and educational systems; and
WHEREAS, licensed employees dedicate countless hours to planning, assessment, instruction, coaching, counseling, therapy, and collaboration in service to others; and
WHEREAS, the commitment and expertise of licensed employees are essential to ensuring equitable access to high-quality services and supports; and
WHEREAS, our community recognizes and values the significant contributions of all licensed employees in serving children, students, families, and educators;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the NWRESD Board of Directors proclaims May 4-8, 2026 to be LICENSED EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the NWRESD Board of Directors strongly encourages all members of our community to join in expressing appreciation to our licensed employees for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to those they serve.
This Resolution is effective immediately.
