Dear families,

At NWRESD Early Learning, we believe that children thrive when families feel connected, supported, and valued. Parenting a child with a disability can be deeply meaningful—and at times, it can also feel isolating. That’s why building community with other families who understand your journey is so important.

One wonderful way to connect is through the Northwest Regional Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). The PAC is a parent-led group for families whose children receive services through NWRESD. It’s a welcoming space to share experiences, learn from one another, and have a voice in shaping the programs that support our children.

PAC gatherings and events create meaningful opportunities to build friendships, exchange ideas, and strengthen our sense of belonging. Whether you choose to attend a meeting, participate in an event, or simply stay informed, your voice and perspective matter. I encourage you to learn more about the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC).

Families can also get involved through the Early Learning Advisory Council (ELAC) that meets in each of our four counties: Washington, Columbia, Clatsop, and Tillamook. These councils offer another way to stay informed, share your input, and help strengthen early learning services in your local community. Queridas familias,

En el Aprendizaje Temprano de NWRESD creemos que los niños prosperan cuando las familias se sienten conectadas, apoyadas y valoradas. Criar a un niño con discapacidad puede ser muy significativo, y a veces, también puede resultar aislado. Por eso es tan importante crear una comunidad con otras familias que comprendan su experiencia.

Una excelente manera de conectar es a través del Comité Asesor de Padres para la Región del Noroeste (PAC, por sus siglas en inglés). El PAC es un grupo dirigido por padres para familias cuyos hijos reciben servicios a través de NWRESD. Es un espacio acogedor para compartir experiencias, aprender unos de otros y participar en la creación de los programas que apoyan a nuestros niños.

Las reuniones y eventos del PAC crean oportunidades significativas para forjar amistades, intercambiar ideas y fortalecer nuestro sentido de pertenencia. Ya sea que elijas asistir a una reunión, participar en un evento o simplemente mantenerte informado, tu voz y perspectiva importan. Te animo a que aprendas más sobre el Comité Asesor de Padres (PAC).

Las familias también pueden participar a través del Consejo Asesor de Aprendizaje Temprano (ELAC) que se reúne en cada uno de nuestros cuatro condados: Washington, Columbia, Clatsop y Tillamook. Estos consejos ofrecen otra manera de mantenerse informado, compartir sus opiniones y ayudar a fortalecer los servicios de aprendizaje temprano en su comunidad local.
