At last night's regular board meeting, the board of directors proclaimed March 2 - 6, 2026 Classified Employee Appreciation Week, stating:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE NORTHWEST REGIONAL EDUCATION SERVICE DISTRICT IN CLATSOP, COLUMBIA, TILLAMOOK, AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES, OREGON PROCLAIMING MARCH 2-6, 2026 CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK
WHEREAS, the education of youth is essential to the future of our community, state, nation, and world; and
WHEREAS, classified employees play a vital role in supporting student learning and the effective delivery of educational programs and services; and
WHEREAS, classified employees serve students, families, educators, and communities through a wide range of essential instructional, student support, and program operations services that advance learning and educational access across the region; and
WHEREAS, classified employees contribute daily to safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments, often working directly with students and families with the greatest needs; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Regional Education Service District relies on the skill, dedication, and professionalism of classified employees to fulfill its mission and advance equitable outcomes for all students; and
WHEREAS, classified employees, with their diverse talents and true dedication, nurture students throughout their years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the NWRESD Board of Directors proclaims March 2 -6, 2026, to be CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION WEEK; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Directors strongly encourages staff, partners, and community members to recognize and honor the important contributions of classified employees and to express appreciation for their service and commitment to students.
This Resolution is effective immediately.
