Northwest Regional Education Service District's Budget Committee plays an important role in developing and reviewing our annual budget. When you join the committee, you'll have the opportunity to work together with other members of this volunteer board to:

• review financial documents
• ask clarifying questions
• make recommendations
• ensure the budget aligns with board goals and priorities

Every spring, the committee meets at least once but usually not more than three times. You'll also be asked to review materials ahead of every meeting. This is an estimated 3-5 hour volunteer commitment per year. Terms last for three or four years, depending on the position. 

The committee is currently seeking applicants for three positions:

• Position 2 (representing the Banks, Forest Grove, Gaston and Sherwood school districts)
• Position 3 (representing the Neah-Kah-Nie, Nestucca Valley and Tillamook school districts)
• At-Large Position (representing any of the 20 component school districts represented by NWRESD)

You do not need to have previous fiscal or finance-related experience to serve on this committee. However, you: 

• must live within the boundaries of the school districts listed 
• must be qualified to vote in the respective county represented by the position
• must not be an officer or employee of NWRESD

The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29.
