“When schools pay attention to the culture and climate of a building, people want to be there,” says Whitney Wagner, a program administrator at Northwest Regional Education Service District.

Good culture and climate leads to a host of better outcomes -- better attendance, higher reading scores, more students graduating, fewer incidents of bullying and other behavior issues and happier teachers.

That’s why we’re offering a professional learning series all about improving your school or district’s school culture and climate using research-based strategies and techniques.

The series includes three sessions that are designed to be taken in succession by a team of people from a school or district. We are offering each session in Seaside and Hillsboro to accommodate educators from around our region.

These are the session dates:

  • Session 1: Sept. 23 in Seaside and Sept. 25 in Hillsboro
  • Session 2: Dec. 9 in Seaside and Dec. 11 in Hillsboro
  • Session 3: March 10 in Seaside and March 12 in Hillsboro
