WHAT IS MAC ?
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How was I selected for the survey ?
Your district submits an employee pool to the state & a small percentage are selected at random to participate in the survey.
My schedule is busy, can I be removed?
The requirements of the federal process we have to follow is that we cannot change the random sample. The survey is completely random & we have no control over who is included. Because of these requirements we cannot remove people based on work loads.
What if I am off on survey day?
If you are off and paid for your day (Sick leave, family illness, vacation, etc.) please code your hours as "A".
How do I account for the hours I work outside my contracted work day? Complete the survey for paid hours worked as specified in your contract. Do not include time spent before or after your contract day.
My activity takes less than 15 minutes?
The major or predominant activity within the 15-minute increment is the activity that determines what code to claim during each 15-minute time period.
I don’t have activities in my day that relate to Medicaid, must I take the survey?
Yes. The purpose of the survey is to get a look at a “day in the life” of each district. This means employees who may not have MAC related activities are included to give a true representation of the district. On average, only one in every 4-5 people has claimable time. Even if you don’t have any claimable activities on the day of the survey, districts are reimbursed on part of your salary by being included in the employee pool.
How is MAC revenue used by my district?
Revenue generated from the MAC program is used to pay for health and social service programs. Participation helps fund nurses, mental health specialists, substance abuse services & a variety of other services that might not be available without MAC Funding.
